United nixes 50-pax Jet agreement with Mesa

United makes good decision and drops some Mesa flying

United Airlines has let an agreement for regional flying with Mesa to expire resulting in yet another blow to the beleagured regional airline.  United Airlines will no longer utilize 26 CRJ-200 50-passenger regional jets operated by Mesa Airlines for their connection service by April 2010.

Bad news continues to work against Mesa Airlines.  It seems their string of bad luck started when they used proprietary information to form a new airline in Hawaii for the sole purpose of putting Aloha out of business.  Unfortunately, they were successful and now Hawaii has a poorly operated airline ‘Go’ in place of the beloved Aloha.

Since then Delta Airlines has made the right decision to get out of contracts with Mesa Airlines because of Mesa’s poor performance.  These contract cases are still being worked through the court system, but rest assured, Mesa will lose the Delta contracts regardless of the courts in time and Mesa will never get a Delta contract again.

Mesa is operated by hated Jonathan Ornstein known for being arrogant and aggressive towards employees.  Business ethics are not something that Mesa Airlines knows anything about. Hopefully other airlines besides United and Delta will get the picture and drop Mesa!
