American Airlines very last A300 aircraft landed for the last time Tuesday at New York’s JFK Airport.  American Airlines had decided to retire the 34 remaining A300 planes as the airline decided to reduce capacity.  These were the only Airbus planes in the airlines extensive fleet and they had been in service for 21 years.

Delta Connection carrier Mesaba was blamed by the Department of Transportation initial findings as the airline to blame for ExpressJet’s Continental Express flight that suffered a 6-hour tarmac delay last week in Rochester, MN.

United Airlines 767 From Sao Paulo Diverted to Miami

A United Airlines Boeing 767 flight from Brazil to Chicago was diverted early in the morning to Miami on July 14 because ‘a flight attendant was not respecting his authority.’  The flight, #842 from Sao Paulo, was in Miami for about an hour while the flight attendant was removed from the aircraft.

Iranian TU-154M Crashes Near Tehran

Caspian Airline Tupolev TU-154M like the one that crashed today in Iran.

It appears that all 168 passengers on board an Iranian airliner died when the aircraft crashed shortly after takeoff from Tehran’s Imam Khomeiny Airport.  The Caspian Airlines plane, a Russian built Tupolev TU-154M, was traveling from Tehran to Yerevan, Armenia, crashed about 15 minutes into the flight killing 153 passengers and 15 crew members.  Reports [...]

Southwest Emergency Lands in West Virginia

A Southwest Airlines 737-300 was forced to make an emergency landing Charleston, West Virginia after a 1-foot by 1-foot hole opened up in the passenger cabin.  The aircraft lost pressure, and the pilots immediately descended and made the emergency landing.
