AirTran Airways continues its aggressive growth in Milwaukee by adding a new destination with its mainline fleet between Milwaukee and Dallas/Ft. Worth Airport. American Airlines, seeing a threat from both JetBlue and AirTran, has announced the addition of Washington Dulles flights to and from San Juan, Puerto Rico. AirTran has announced some increases in service to and from the Sunshine State in time for the cold winter months giving customers greater access to theme parks and beaches. Midwest Airlines announced that on November 9 it will cease operating the carriers main fleet type – the Boeing 717. The new owners of Midwest, Republic Airlines, will replace all Boeing 717 flights with either regional jets or shared Airbus jets from their new partner, Frontier Airlines.
