Southwest Airlines has announced yet another expansion of flights in Denver in their continued assault against Frontier. Southwest bid to take-over and eliminate Frontier as a competitor earlier this summer, but failed in the attempt. Republic Airways, in an effort to retire the Boeing 717’s currently operated by their newly acquired Midwest Airlines, will purchase 10 Embraer 190’s from US Airways as that airline tries to unload about 25 of the 99-seat regional jets.
