Delta to add JFK to Grand Cayman non-stop

Delta Airlines has announced new non-stop service to Grand Cayman of the Cayman Islands will commence on June 12.  The airline will offer once-weekly Saturday flights between the two cities on Boeing 737-800 aircraft.

This new service to the Cayman Islands compliments Delta Airlines current Cayman service out of their hub in Atlanta.

Boeing has announced their third quarter and year-to-date deliveries for their commercial aircraft line. 

Boeing 737 – 90 delivered; 280 year-to-date
Boeing 747 – 0 delivered; 6 year-to-date
Boeing 767 – 4 delivered; 10 year-to-date
Boeing 777 – 19 delivered; 63 year-to-date
TOTAL – 113 delivered; 359 year-to-date

Westjet Boeing 737 Next Generation to fly Canada to Hawaii

WestJet, the second-largest airline of Canada based in Calgary, has announced new non-stop flights from both Calgary and Edmonton to Hawaii. 

Edmonton will get one flight weekly on Friday’s to Maui using next-generation Boeing 737 aircraft fitted for overwater travel.  This flight will operate from March 5 to April 30, and will resume in 2011.

Midwest Airlines continues to reduce in scope - now eliminating all 717

Midwest Airlines announced that on November 9 it will cease operating the carriers main fleet type – the Boeing 717.  The new owners of Midwest, Republic Airlines, will replace all Boeing 717 flights with either regional jets or shared Airbus jets from their new partner, Frontier Airlines.
