Philippine Airlines adds the Boeing 777-300ER to their long-range fleet of Boeing 747-400

Today, Boeing delivered a 777-300ER to Philippine Airlines through a United States based leasing company.  The new aircraft is the first Boeing 777 to join the Philippine Airlines fleet and is one of two 777-300ER’s coming from GE Capital Aviation Services aircraft leasing company.

The first Boeing 747-8 is soon ready for freighter flights

The very first completed Boeing 747-8 is now ready for delivery at the Boeing plant in Everett, Washington.  This new model of the famous Jumbo Jet is 18 feet longer than the next largest 747 – the -400 model.  It also has a 13-foot wider wing-span.

Delta Airlines has announced schedule changes for next summer that will increase cooperation with Air France/KLM, Alaska Airlines and capitalize on additional synergies with former Northwest Airlines that it acquired last fall.

Boeing announces 3rd qtr deliveries

Boeing has announced their third quarter and year-to-date deliveries for their commercial aircraft line. 

Boeing 737 – 90 delivered; 280 year-to-date
Boeing 747 – 0 delivered; 6 year-to-date
Boeing 767 – 4 delivered; 10 year-to-date
Boeing 777 – 19 delivered; 63 year-to-date
TOTAL – 113 delivered; 359 year-to-date

Delta Airlines adds flight and 777 to Detroit-Shanghai

Delta, the proud owner of their new Detroit Hub acquired when they purchased Northwest Airlines earlier this year, will add an additional non-stop flight between that hub and Shanghai, China this fall.  This will bring the weekly non-stop flights to five from the current four.
