The Boeing 787 Dreamliner will fly by years end

Boeing has stated that the long delayed Boeing 787 Dreamliner project is progressing and that they anticipate a first flight of the aircraft by the end of 2009.  The first delivery for the new aircraft type will be rescheduled until fourth quarter 2010.

American Airlines very last A300 aircraft landed for the last time Tuesday at New York’s JFK Airport.  American Airlines had decided to retire the 34 remaining A300 planes as the airline decided to reduce capacity.  These were the only Airbus planes in the airlines extensive fleet and they had been in service for 21 years.

Ethiopian Airlines adds to Boeing fleet with 777 order

Boeing & Ethiopian Airlines announce the intended purchase of five 777-200LR’s from Boeing for an undisclosed negotiated price.  The list price makes this sale valued at $1.3 billion.
