JetBlue to add Punta Cana, Dominican Republic

JetBlue will launch new service to their next Caribbean destination by adding Punta Cana on the northeast side of Dominican Republic.  Daily flights will operate from New York JFK Airport and weekly flights on Saturday’s will fly between Boston and PUJ.

JetBlue announces major expansion of Boston flights

JetBlue today announced a 30% increase in Boston departures by next summer, 2010.  JetBlue’s growing base operations in Boston by next summer will be comprised of 78 daily flights to 33 destinations with over 1,300 crew members in the area.

American to reinstate Dulles to San Juan

American Airlines, seeing a threat from both JetBlue and AirTran, has announced the addition of Washington Dulles flights to and from San Juan, Puerto Rico.  This service used to operate before cutbacks at San Juan for American.  The new service will launch on November 19 and operate daily using Boeing 737-800 aircraft.

JetBlue has narrowed possible locations for its new corporate headquarters to New York City or Orlando.  New York JFK airport is JetBlue’s primary hub airport and their corporate headquarters are currently in Queen’s with some financial offices in Connecticut.

The long awaited code-share between JetBlue and German airline Lufthansa has commenced today offering JetBlue customers in twelve JetBlue cities easier and convenient access to Lufthansa destinations like Tel Aviv, Frankfurt, Prague and Budapest.  Connections are now available to more than 400 destinations in 100 countries vis the worldwide Lufthansa network.

Baltimore gets JetBlue Flights Today to Boston Hub

JetBlue, in direct competition with Southwest Airlines,  launched their new service today between Boston and Baltimore giving Baltimore customers access to their Boston hub with connections to many cities throughout the JetBlue network. 

JetBlue offered a $9 fare in honor of the date today 9/9/09 on their website through this evening as long as supplies last.

JetBlue and Lufthansa of Germany today announced their intention to form a code-sharing agreement focusing on the JetBlue hub of New York JFK Airport.  The application to the Department of Transportation calls for unlimited code-sharing between the two carriers on all of their flights.
