Airline Blog Introduction
As a young kid of an often traveling parent, I found my love for aviation and the commercial airline industry early on. I can remember my bedroom walls and part of the ceiling covered for most of my childhood with posters and photos of commercial airplanes in various 1970’s and ’80’s liveries.
When I was 12, I wrote letters to all the airlines of the US and Canada asking for any pictures they may have to share with an interested boy. To my surprise, I received a great response. I remember that Northwest Orient responded with a tube filled with large posters of all of their aircraft types. I thought I had died and gone to heaven!
Fast forward to my college years, I studied Aviation Management at Florida Institute of Technology and obtained my Commercial Pilot Certificate with Instrument rating during that time. I chose not to pursue the flying aspect, but instead thrived in a career of airline and other travel jobs.
I have worked for three airline, been through a merger, a bankruptcy and a liquidation – which is probably the norm these days. I then left the airline industry, but stayed close working for tour operators with close partnering with various carriers.
Now, I want to share my thoughts, feelings and unique take on the airline industry, it’s news, happenings and progress (or lack thereof). Come with me, register with my blog, and please share your comments at any time as I love to hear a variety of views on what we all love – the airlines.
